(FCO) Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport Overview

Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, also known as Fiumicino to locals, (airport code FCO) is located 30 kilometers from the center of Rome. Fiumicino has four terminals, 1, 2, 3, and the recently opened Terminal 5 handling international travelers. Passengers wanting to visit the city center can use the Leonardo Express rail by going to the train station at the airport. The train runs every half hour and takes 30 minutes to Stazione Termini, Rome's main train station. Much like the city, the airport also has exceptional shopping from famous high-end fashion (Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci) to duty free Italian-made products and traveler basics such as newsstands and gift shops. Also called the Eternal City, Rome's history runs 3,000 years deep and is home to 913 churches and countless historical ruins. These include must-see sites such as the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican and the Coliseum.
