Located 30 kilometers northeast of the city, the Tropic of Capricorn intersects the airport’s southern tip. Locals refer to it as Cumbica Airport after the suburb it occupies. Guarulhos Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 with Wings A and B and Terminal 2 with Wings D and C. However, the airport is undergoing a major expansion with construction of a third runway and a new Terminal 3 along with a new express rail service in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
