striate 01-10-2014 2:59 AM Air travel via Chumphon Airport, Pathiu District is the fastest way to get to Chumphon and onwards to the islands, alternatives include boat, rail,and bus. Various ferry companies operate boats to Chumphon with bus service into the centre of town. For those in the islands of the Gulf of Thailand wishing to return to Bangkok, Chumphon is a more direct than returning via Surat Thani. [edit]By air Chumphon Airport is located 30km north of Chumphon City in Pathio District (alternative spelling Pathiu). It has direct multiple daily flights connections with Bangkok's two airports, Don Meueng Airport - Budget & Low cost flights (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK). There are also onward flights to Ranong Airport (UNN). Flights from Bangkok are around 50 minutes. The airport is located 5 minutes from the unspoilt beaches of Pathio and direct access to onwards island connections. Airlines serving Chumphon Airport, Pathio. Nok Air operates two daily flights between Bangkok (Don Muang, DMK) and Chumphon Airport, Pathio District, Chumphon (CJM). Happy Air operates a flight between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport BKK) to Chumphon and onwards to Ranong and Chumphon to Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport) 6 times a week (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun). Services at the Airport. The airport has transit agents for onward travel to Chumphon town, Chumphon Archipelago including the islands Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and onto Koh Samui. Chumphon Coffee and gift shop adjacent departure gates offer latte, cappuccino and fruit smoothies. The airport has several ATM machines. Fame Tours and Services have a counter at arrivals hall offering transfer and hotel services. Lomprayah has an counter at the airport offering direct connections to the pier for High Speed Catamaran transfer services between Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Chumphon. The TAT Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chumphon has a tourism information counter offering information on the region adjacent to the airline counters.
