rollercoasting 05-21-2012 14:12 Transferred through MEM for a few flights. It's a small airport, so you can make short layovers even across terminals. Restrooms were clean, crowds were small, and food was pricy but reasonable. The place looks a bit aged, but it's certainly better than some other airports I've been to in regards to aesthetics. WiFi isn't free, but there are at least a LOT of charging stations around. The worst thing I experienced was the rapid and unexpected changing of departure gates, but I don't know if this is the airport's fault or the airline's fault (flew Delta Connection every time I passed through). Overall, I'd recommend it over ATL or any of the other large transferring airports sheerly based on ease of navigation.
howboutit2 09-16-2011 10:48 ENJOYED THE ATMOSPHERE DURING MY LAY OVER. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
photorooster 11-27-2010 16:14 We have to frequent this airport since family live nearby. We have named this airport, "death march airport" because if you have small children in tow and even the minimal amount of baggage, be prepared for long traverses by foot to get anywhere. You will not find any personal conveyance beltway or trams found in most civilized facilities of this size. Give yourself plenty of time for rest stops or "pray" that your connector terminal happens to be closeby! Thumbs way down.
wwwilkie 04-2-2009 20:59 The best thing that I can say about this airport is Jim Neely Interstate BBQ. Very good food, nice people and great value. Other than that, this airport stinks.
dalmore 01-30-2009 18:57 Not much for an airport that calls itself "International." Very limited eating and no shopping.
ufcliff 01-14-2009 14:33 MEM is a big bus station. It is urban sprall in airport garb.
micksmothers 07-29-2008 13:40 Pretty average airport all around.
BerraTV 09-3-2007 16:03 Nice little airport for a hub, and easy to get around. You are no farther than 7 to 8 minutes from the farthest connecting gate. Some complain about the architecture, but I find it interesting with a nice nostalgic 70-80's look with gray brick. It is so retro, you will notice that newer buildings are now going to that gray look. Ahead of its time? The food is average except for the great Q at Interstate and Corky's. I go through Memphis just for that. Rock on Elvis!
hobulheinrik 08-9-2007 22:21 overall terrible.
