Concretebrew 05-1-2014 4:46 AM I have used MXP as a Business Class traveler since the 60' and the transformation and evolution on this airport has been incredible. Other than being far from Milan (You can leave from Linate right downtown if you don't mind starting elsewhere in the Continent) and the prices--which are no worse than elsewhere--time can really fly if but window shopping. The Business Lounges are superb, except of course, those operated by US airlines.
gingersnaps 01-22-2014 11:00 PM The appropriately named "Malpensa" (can mean "badly thought out" in Spanish or Italian-- who thought of this unintentionally funny name?) is a hot mess. Poorly organized, staffed with bovine looking employees who look like they should be ruminating in a field instead of working in an airport. Amongst developed nations, one of the worst airports in the world.
ricardobtg 04-27-2011 6:39 PM So, because a famous designer provided some input, we are supposed to regard this 13 year old (and already dated looking) airport as an architectural marvel? This might not be a case for educated eyes but more of a case of educated eyes seeing clothes on the emperor when he actually has none. Even without Alitalia, security can take a long time and the gate areas can be a bit crowded, bathrooms seem to have malfunctions and the interior design must be seen to be believed, what might seem like something out of the 60s is actually from 1998 ! There are other European airports that are much more pleasant to transit through (and without "smelly" hordes) Like Munich, Amsterdam, Madrid T4 which are also free of hamburger eating people on the floor, more or less. To it's credit, the airport did seem more or less clean in all public areas, but there's really not many nice things one can say about MXP, save for providing an interesting time-travel experience. 04-24-2011 11:48 AM Competing with Bergamo to the worst airport experience in Europe, managed by a bunch of arogant incompempetent mamager, who due their carieer to political connection.
toucego 10-18-2008 11:10 PM I only have been in terminal 2 in's small and it looks old...
gianniz 07-25-2008 9:19 PM The unfortunately common narrowminded that love Italy but are unable to respect it post unobjective comments about this airport. Ettore Sottsass, one of the immortal architects that created industrial design and that has made Milan its capital is the author of the Malpensa interiors. You need educated eyes to see it. Critics obviously prefer the ugly amassment of human bodies found at Heathrow, or the ugly scenes of fat Americans licking their fingers while eating hamburgers sitting on the dirty fllors of ALL American airports. Everyone gets what deserves: Keep f;lying through the "efficient" Heathrow or amassed with the smelly hordes that flock most other hubs these days. I'll keep strolling in the wide halls of Malpensa surrounded by the best restaurants and coffee shops of any airport, and the finest shops.
wallygator1971 06-28-2008 3:28 PM one of better airports I use
VeloceRacing 12-26-2007 8:51 PM "Malpensa" roughly translates into "Bad Thoughts" and there is no more precise description for this horrible place. I've had my checked luggage picked clean twice (pre- and post 9/11), luggage completely disappeared twice and luggage delayed by two days twice. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
marcomob 12-10-2007 10:17 PM Bad hub!
jabyb 07-9-2007 8:37 PM I will avoid this airport at all costs in the future. I have used it in the past as a conecting city with Alitalia. I will avoid Alitalia simply to avoid this airport!
MPF 02-8-2007 11:07 AM Severe problems in baggage handling (consider 40/45 minutes)
