skyflier 06-13-2014 4:37 PM Very small building, easy to get around. Air Canada only airline with direct flights to only Calgary or Vancouver. Valley, mountains and winter weather affect scheduled flights very often due to limited technical equipment at control centre. Very handy location for West Kootenay region and definitely more reliable in summer months. Free wifi, friendly airport staff, quick loading and unloading.

taylor1950 12-1-2012 1:01 AM This is a rural, regional airport, so one has to lower expectations. However, two items which you did not specifically ask about are: (1) Service by one, current carrier - excellent to dismal. (2) Geographical location + poor airport technology make this airport extremely difficult to get out of and into, especially during winter months. Current carrier is Air Canada, and I really hope West Jet decides to service this area as well as it would increase the odds of departing and arriving somewhere close to the actual day one selects and pays for. It is not uncommon for passengers to have to leave the airport entirely as flights will be restricted one or more days in a row. This is extremely inconvenient, epecially for those who have business appointments. Lastly, I have not answered some questions as they are not applicable to this location.
Reddevil01 01-19-2012 3:21 PM There is a reason this airport is called Cancelgar, something to do with the city being too cheap to buy radar so any bad weather and the flight is cancelled. Only serviced by Aircanada as of yet so prices are very high! It is called a regional airport but needs updating before it actually is.
j.williams1987 12-11-2011 8:52 PM Worst cancellation history I have ever experienced. If there's a cloud in the sky, you wont fly in or out.
