Historical Flight Report - A lot of you have wondered how to look up a flight that flew sometime in the past. This application allows registered users to do just that.
Airport Parking - We went ahead and split the airport parking application out from the Airport Information application. In the future, we plan to show parking information for the airports as well as giving you the ability to reserve airport parking so it just made sense to go ahead and split it out now. In addition, our Airport Information application (with recent improvements) was getting a bit large in size.
Airport Information - Speaking of the Airport Information application, we have re-designed the page and tried to bring some of our information together to give you a good starting point of what is going on at a particular airport and also what information is available for it.
User Interface Improvements - Based on some user feed-back, and our own likes/dislikes we have made some user interface improvements on the site that we feel help make pages cleaner and more useable. Changes include: splitting travel planning applications out into their own menu and improving the Create Flight Alert application. The biggest UI change though was to our left-hand sidebar. We hope that the new sidebar is easier to use and helps show the vast amount of information on this website.
Windows Live Toolbar Button - We created a custom button for the Windows Live Toolbar. Just like our Google Toolbar Button, users can quickly search FlightStats by entering a defined search term in the toolbar search box and clicking the FlightStats button. In addition, current airport delays show up right under the button when the button drop-down is clicked.
Airport User Ratings - Registered users can now review and rate individual airports and best of all the FlightStats Community can learn a lot from one another about the good and bad at an airport.
Travel Deals - We teamed up with our friends from www.smartertravel.com to bring you the latest deals being offered by airlines, car and hotel rental companies, cruise companies and more.
Travel Advisories - Travel Advisories were rolled out in prior release, but we hope that we have made it more easy to use. You can see various news and security alerts issued for countries around the world.
Airports of the World - Another application that was enhanced in this release was our Airports of the World application. We have added a Google Maps mashup that shows the largest airports for the country and shows you smaller airports as you zoom in.
Travel Warnings - The governments of Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States all publish travel warnings about various countries. We collected all this information for you and put it together in a very simple application that you can use. This information will be kept current so that you can be more informed about countries you might want to avoid.
Consular Information Sheets - Like the Travel Warnings application, we collected and will keep current all the consular information sheets that the above mentioned countries publish. There is a vast amount of useful information in each about a particular country
Country Information - This application tries to combine the information mentioned above into a single starting point that will show you what information about a country we have. In addition, we have collected information for a country that the United States Center of Disease Control and Prevention publishes.
We are very excited about our new applications and the amount of new information at your fingertips. Rest assured though, we are not stopping and are also real excited about the applications currently in development. We want FlightStats to be the website you turn to for information that helps you make more informed decisions about where you travel and who you travel with. If there is anything we can do to make this website more useful to you, please let us know. Thank you very much for using FlightStats!
