Site Changes

In the past month we have introduced two new features to FlightStats.com.

Flight Availability - We have had a lot people asking us for an application they can use to determine which carriers fly a particular route, which flights are available, etc.. We created a flight availability application for this purpose. However, we also realize that most of the availability applications on airline and travel sites lack some of the features that advanced users are looking for, and we wanted to create a more useful application for them. The availability application has both basic and advanced features. Some of the advanced features include:

  • The ability to specify which airline you are interested in
  • The ability to force a connection
  • The ability to exclude certain connection airports
  • The ability to specify which fare class you desire
  • A display that shows you what fare classes are available
We also mashed up our historical on-time performance ratings to help aid in the decision process.

Airport Tracker - Our flight tracker application has been a huge success. We thought it would be fun to extend the approach and create an application where you can watch all inbound and outbound commercial flights for a given airport. Our Airport Tracker application does just this, and is available for most US and Canadian airports.

That is about it for now, besides some minor bug fixes and small improvements. As always we appreciate your feedback and suggestions. If there is anything we can do to make FlightStats more useful for you, please let us know.

Thank you very much for helping make FlightStats.com a success!
