FlightStats February 2013 On-time Performance Report
A mix of major and regional European airlines turned in strong performances in February. (NT) Binter Canarias took the top spot delivering 98.03% of its flights on time.
03/05/2013 @ 12:47 (Updated 03/06/2013 @ 09:45) The FlightStats February 2013 On-time Performance Report Summary: Major International Airlines Major International airlines on average delivered 77.64% of their flights to the arrival gate within 15 minutes of schedule in February, down slightly from January’s 78.27%. Cancellations for the group in February were 1.57%, up from 1.45% last month. Three major international carriers: (SA) South African, (GF) Gulf Air, and (JL) Japan Airlines delivered over 90% of their flights on time. The top ten performing Global airlines and their on-time percentages in February were:
North American Airlines North American airlines, on average, delivered 79.04% of their flights to the arrival gate within 15 minutes of schedule in February compared with 79.21% in January. In February eight of the top 10 had at least 90% of their flights to the gate on time. The OTP for the group was 81.30% in February, up from 80.67% in January. Asian Airlines Of the top ten Asian airline on time performers, four delivered greater than 90% of their flights to the gate on time in February. The average on-time performance rating among the 41 Asian airlines we analyzed in February was 68.18% Cancellations for the group were 1.09%. Major International Airports (SEA) Seattle-Tacoma’s International Airport posting a 91.18% on-time departure performance in February unseated (HND) Tokyo's Haneda for the top spot among the world’s busiest airports. In February, eight North American airports were in the top ten. The average on-time departure performance among the top 35 international airports in February was 73.29% down slightly from January’s rate of 74.73% and cancellations for the group were 2.39% up from January’s rate of 1.79%. North American Airports (SEA) Seattle-Tacoma International Airport also took the top spot with 91.18% on-time departure performance in February. The average on-time departure performance for the group in February was 80.13% down slightly from January’s 80.31%. Cancellations for the group were up 1.13 percentage points to 2.74% in February. This was likely due to the battery of storms pummeling the country. Most affected airports were, (BOS) 7.85%, (YYZ) 6.83%, (LGA) 6.65%, (ORD) 5.81% and (EWR) 5.70% of their flights cancelled.
